Dilophosaurus is a dinosaur which lived approximately 193 million years ago during the early Jurassic Period. Dilophosaurus means “double crested lizard”.
It is known by a carnivore, and It is a predator on slender legs. They had short with three-fingered hands and strong legs with 4-toes feet. They also had a curved, S-shaped neck.
Fossil samples suggest that it roamed in groups and found in China.
Dilophosaurus was about 6 meters long, and about 1.5 meters tall at the hips. It weighed around 450 kilograms.
It is believed that it was relatively fast runners. Some of the fossilized footprints had imprints of claw-tips. Its legs were around 1.65 meters in length, and its stride was around 2.13 meter long. It lived near streams, rivers as well as other water sources.
